Iwona Kałuża - Curatorial Description of the Exhibition *Good Evening in Wrocław* BWA Wrocław Contemporary Art Galleries

Pfishova's work diverges from such associations as the passing time, sunset or any other phenomena directly connected with evening. The hanging cluster of corks presented at the exhibition is a reference to frailty, but also the power of group work. The installation is directly related to individual experience and is an attempt to confront recent personal events. The cork is a direct association with plugging, i.e. blocking the penetrability of matter or words. But these corks are transparent. And transparency means disclosure, non-concealment, opposite of what tends to be invisible, hidden or happening behind the so-called closed doors. So, first and foremost, evening here is a reference to feelings - fear, frailty and suffering, but also strength arising from plurality, empathy and mutual understanding. *** Iwona Kałuża - Curator / Head of the Audience Development Team - BWA Wrocław Contemporary Art Galleries
